Chief Client Strategy
Dr. Sigal Katz is the Chief Client Strategist at FreeMind, where she leads the firm’s strategic planning efforts across a diverse portfolio of biotechnology and medical device companies. She works closely with executive teams to design and execute sophisticated non-dilutive funding strategies, aligning scientific innovation with the most competitive funding mechanisms, including NIH, DoD, ARPA-H, and other global programs.
In her role, Dr. Katz is responsible for shaping funding strategies from early-stage concept development through clinical translation. She ensures that client programs are positioned for maximum competitiveness, combining deep scientific understanding with a rigorous, opportunity-driven strategic framework. Her work is central to enabling clients to secure funding that advances both their R&D objectives and long-term value creation.
Dr. Katz also plays a key leadership role within FreeMind, mentoring and guiding a team of strategists, contributing to the development of the firm’s internal methodologies, and supporting broader strategic initiatives across the organization.
Prior to joining FreeMind, Dr. Katz served as an equity analyst at a leading financial institution in Israel, where she specialized in life science companies with a focus on oncology and medical devices. Earlier in her career, she held a marketing management role at Patho-Lab Diagnostics, Israel’s largest provider of clinical laboratory services in histopathology and cytopathology. This combination of scientific, financial, and commercial experience informs her multidimensional approach to strategy.
Dr. Katz received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, where her research focused on signal transduction pathways in breast cancer. She completed her postdoctoral training at the Ontario Cancer Institute at the University of Toronto, where she studied the regulation and function of c-Myc and its implications for novel anti-cancer therapeutics.
Dr. Katz is the recipient of multiple academic honors and has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications.
