Every year, US-based non-dilutive sources of funding award billions of dollars towards clinical stage research in the Life Sciences.

Funding is available for clinical stage funding across scientific fields including Infectious Diseases, Neurosciences, Cardiovascular, and many more. These funds come from multiple Institutes within the NIH, such as NIAID, NIAMS, NIDDK, from BARDA, and from the DOD.

The Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), are supported by funds allocated by Congress for biomedical research in response to the needs of the American people and military.

With a FY2016 budget of over $800 million, these funds will go towards supporting R&D efforts in various stages of development. Some research areas covered include Breast Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis. There are several additional Peer Reviewed topics such as Alzheimer’s and Cancer, and others.
